Michael R. McLear, executive vice president at Core Minerals, an Evansville, Indiana based oil and gas company, will present, “Horizontal Drilling in a Non-Shale, Oil Bearing Formation” at the Kentucky Oil & Gas Association’s 74th annual meeting on June 17, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Downtown in Louisville, KY.
McLear is a registered Professional Petroleum Engineer with over 29 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Before joining Core Minerals McLear was the Chief Financial Officer for Team Energy in Bridgeport, IL. He also held engineering and management positions with the Marathon Oil Company in Tyler, TX, Jonesville, MI, and Bridgeport, IL.
A graduate of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana, McLear received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers: Illinois Basin Section, Past Officer of the Michigan Section, and a member of the Illinois Oil & Gas Association. He has also served as a Director and Engineering Advisor for the Indiana Oil & Gas Association.
Core Minerals is a privately held company focused on the acquisition and management of producing and non-producing oil and natural gas properties. From April of 2006 through April of 2010, Core executed a regional roll-up strategy closing ten separate oil and gas asset purchases, integrating the acquisitions, and ultimately divesting the consolidated asset group.
